Back from dinner…

…with . it was delightful to meet him, and we even got HWMBO to talk a lot. We had dinner at Wagamama’s, and really loved the duck gyoza and the coconut ice cream to end. We escorted him to the King’s Arms on Poland street and left him there; what adventures his buttons are now going through we cannot say.

Actually, I think somebody has to know me before they decide that my buttons are ripe for the unfastening. And this is England, after all. On top of which, I’m not sure a carpeted pub is quite the place for Bacchanalian adventure, although I’m hard-pressed to say exactly why.

Thanks for contacting me about meeting up and joining me for dinner. It made for a fine beginning to my trip.

And you might note: I managed to snag myself perhaps the most beautiful day it is possible to have in the city of London.

HWMBO is not usually one to talk much? He was quite pleasantly sociable last night and I was happy to meet him.

Well, I guess from reading your entry that your shirt buttons remained firmly in their respective holes. We were delighted to get the opportunity to meet you and have dinner with you.

And thanks for bringing the fine day with you; we have had a terrible spring this year: mostly cold and damp but not actually raining. We hope that by June we’ve had a few fine days.

And yes, HWMBO is quite shy at first meeting, but your charm and joie de vivre seem to have gotten rid of the shyness right away.

Enjoy the rest of your stay in our lovely isle.
