Ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes…

…but make sure that they each stay where they belong. Toeprints are no substitute for fingerprints, as this Jamaican man found out.

It’s going to be DNA registration in the end. And I confess that despite being sympathetic to criminals, I don’t disagree with it.

DNA registration? What about identical twins?

That being said, no one has absolutely proven that no two fingerprints are identical. It’s a convenient assumption that allows the authorities to identify miscreants with a high degree of probability.

Identical twins will definitely be at a disadvantage. On the other hand, they have a larger opportunity for messing with the authorities, with DNA identification plus ubiquitous public space cameras. So it’s a yay-boo for them. For everyone else, it’s basically a yay unless you’ve done something heinous and left DNA behind.
