Windows Vista has recognition difficulties…

…in this video. I have the beta but haven’t installed it yet because it wants me to uninstall (not just turn off, uninstall) my anti-virus software. Do I trust Uncle Bill to protect my machine while the anti-virus is uninstalled? The hell I do!

You have beta 1 or 2?

    Beta 2

oh c’mon. Live a little. Run it with A/V. 🙂
How about putting it on an isolated network?

without A/V, is what I meant. Typed too fast, pressed “enter” too quickly. 🙂

Well, antivirus is the only thing that keeps my from being horribly invaded by trojans and becoming a zombie. I remember what computing was like before viruses, you see, so my glasses are definitely rose-tinted.

I may yet do it, but I don’t have an isolated network to install it on and, funnily enough, Vista requires you to be connected to the Internet to install. So it wants you to remove your anti-virus product AND trust Uncle Bill enough to stay connected to the Internet. Yup, no problems there!

hrmmm… I don’t remember going through all that with Beta 1. Though I only had it for all of… 3 days? 5 days? Way too buggy.
