I know what you mean by this, but a casual observer might read it as, “I went to Tesco and they didn’t have any soy sauce/peanuts that are worth cooking with, so I’m off to Chinatown to get decent quality sauce for the squirrels I’m going to be cooking with peanut stuffing.”

I realise that HWMBO would be aPALLed at that interpretation (preferring the squirrels cute and alive after they’ve stuffed themselves with peanuts), but the juxtaposition of soy sauce in there does give one pause, and provoke interesting fantasies of your culinary plans.

There are no culinary uses for squirrels in this household.

The peanuts are purchased with the express intention of keeping the squirrels fed and alive, not in view of any culinary interest on our part.
