Fighting a battle that has already been lost

Let’s be clear at the start: I patronise Starbucks. I like the fact that wherever I go, whether it’s Shanghai or Marblehead or central London, I get a predictable cup of coffee using a vocabulary that I understand and that the people who are serving me understand. I do not make any representation that a Starbucks coffee is gourmet coffee, that it is exceptionally good, or that there are no coffee shops and local caf

I think she’s just making a fuss out of nothing. I mean come on what’s so difficult about saying just “no cheese and butter” or just repeating “plain”

There are still plenty of Starbucks in Australia, rumors of said death are greatly exaggerated.

Me, I prefer Peet’s, now owned by the founders of Starbucks. Now that’s an odd story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peet%27s_Coffee_%26_Tea.

Well, she got her comeuppance. Her 15 minutes of fame were in the New York Post.

If you look up the word asshat in the Dictionary of Slang, I’ll bet that her picture is next to it.

I wasn’t aware of their continued presence in Australia. The last I heard they were closing up and withdrawing. But, of course, I only believe what I read on the Intarwebz, so it’s possible that the report is wrong and I bow to your information.

I have heard of Peet’s, but have never seen an outlet, as I haven’t been to the WCNA for 15 years now.

bow to my information, lol. http://www.starbucks.com.au/en-AU/_About+Starbucks/_FAQ+Index/Our+Stores.htm has more.

I just remember a nice iced coffee after a beach day at a newish Starbucks in Mooloolaba… this was back in March, so I was surprised to hear a rumor that they were closing.
