Today’s Maddening URL

Does anyone remember when most radio was live? Nowadays most of it is canned in a studio far away from the station broadcasting it at another time far in the future. No one is actually at the radio station. Sometimes, no one is listening. So sometimes things go wrong.

The video below was taken by someone driving from Chicago through Indiana. 91.9 seems a bit broken, doesn’t it?

You might not want to listen to this all the way through. It will haunt you.

I could almost hear some band using this loop as a background for a piece of music. Sort of like “Revolution No. 9”.

I was thinking along the same lines. That’s one of the best accidental skips I’ve heard. Very clear upbeat on “and,” and the “tion” gives a nice rhythmic accent. I could see some eclectic composer using this in something that becomes an interesting blend of Reich, Stockhausen, and Berio. If I had more time and talent, I think I would take a crack at it myself.

    It made me dance.

It is very ambient and I suppose if one needed to put oneself into a trance it would be a good piece of audio to which to do that.
